The international early childhood field (Kenya)
taught me that education for young children in need is important in Kenya. It does not matter in what shape the child is
there is always helped. In Kenya there are
programs that help young children with special needs. Children are providing
with all the different resource they need to reach their potential. Learning from Kenya has provided me with the
resource that I can still make a difference in a child life. No matter how much money there is for teaching
material there are always things that I can use to plan a well balance curriculum.
Seeing children in poverty breaks my
heart. Children should not suffer. One of my goal as an educator is to work
with the less fortunate and help them succeed.

Professional Goals, Hopes and Dreams
I have several
professional goals that I would like to start working on. The first one is to learn how to integrate
technology to my teaching. I want to provide my students with the new way of
teaching. The second goal is to add some new teaching strategies. New teaching
strategies would give me the opportunity to be able to reach each student with
their learning needs. The last goal that
is so important to me is being able to improve how I differentiate my
instructions. Some students are in the need of so much help that it is
sometimes hard as a teacher to be able to find different ways to teach the same
subject.
My dreams and challenges are being able
reach each student learning needs. I believe each student has the capacity to
learn on their own way. I feel a
challenge as a teacher to look for ways on how to present the learning material
to every student in my classroom. My dream is to see them finish school and
succeed in whatever they choose to.

The link
took me to explore and learn about Ghana. Since 2000 ICRI has been working with
Ghana to provide a healthier place for the children. In 2003, Ghana opened a full time office in
Accra to help the orphan and displace children in rural villages. This program aims to restructuring workshop to
help teachers provide an equality program to children in need. Children that are less privileged in society
will get the right education. The program
would empower and build children to become good citizens. This program would also seek and promote
children rights in our community.
The International Child Resource Instated
in Ghana provides and train teachers and administrators with effective methods
in early childhood education. The
learning materials used were made of crafted from objects found. To ensure the program works for all children,
they conduct an ongoing evaluation to help teachers plan new interventions.

Working Globally
The new
information that I gained from visiting this website is that there are 200
million children around the world that don’t reach their full potential by age
5. Another insight that I became aware is that in North America, the Center on
the Developing Child is working globally to help breakthrough the outcomes of
our children in poverty.
This organization
is helping coordinate different strategies to support our children health,
education and economic development. Also,
they are in the need of protecting our children form adversity and are providing
them with a high quality learning opportunities. They also mention and we all should know this
is that early childhood years are the critical years of a child lives. We should all be providing our children with an
accessible education that would help our children be school readiness. No
matter if our children come from low-income homes, they also need to be
included in our higher education programs. As educators we need to close the
gap between our low-income students.

What made me think is that more than 14.5 million children
in America were poor in 2015, and these children are from working parents. I just don’t understand why so many law makers
if we as a nation don’t see for all these poor children. What bothers me most is that these 14.5
million poor children are Black or Latino. I don’t see an end to this children
poverty. It is just a cycle of children in poverty. These children are often
less healthy, their development are hinder because they don’t have the right resources
and are left behind. And what is sad is these
poor children become poor parents. Like the website mentions every year we let
children live in poverty.
There is hope for
some help with the Child Care Access Resources for Early learning Act. This act
would help children under age 4 and with income level below 200 percent of
poverty and a need for child care would receive services. Every three years the act would conduct a
study to show the state the cost of child care and to set up payment rate that
attracts and retain high –quality child care provider. This act would make sure
that the children would be provide with a well develop educational program that
meets the needs of all children.

Expanding Resources childhood organization
Kenya
The
steps I took first are to choose part 1 of the assignment. I tried to connect to
the two website provided but unfortunately the websites no longer exists. Here
are the two places where I was unable to connect World Forum Foundation, World Forum Foundation Radio. I decided to research the other
options. I decided to choose two websites outside the United States. The
Global Fund for Children, International Child Resource Institute Kenya is the two places that I would immerse
myself to learn more about childhood institutes. To stay connected and establish communication
I send an email to request their newsletters. It would be eight weeks of
exiting journey, learning about trends and issues in the childhood settings.

My Supports
We leave in an era where everything moves so fast. The pace of life is not the same as before. Now days the system demands everyone to become updated with technology. I have notice that if you don’t know how to use computers it’s sometimes hard to get the job. And I’m not saying just to know the basic of a computer; you need to know more than the basic.
I am not good with technology. I see myself more as old school. But in my new job we all communicate online. I was very a blessed to learn that the person who offers me the job new that I was not that good using technology but she believed in me. Every morning has been a challenge going to work but I know that there is support for me. People have taken the time to train me in every aspect of my new job. Coaches have offered me their support anytime of the day. It feels so nice to know that if I need help I would find support within my colleague. I just imagine how nerve-racking would it be if I had no support from anyone. Everyone needs a supportive hand it does not matter in what area of life. Let’s stretch our hand and bless someone.
