Child Poverty Insights - Overcoming Illness and Poverty: Rio de Janeiro’s
The country that I choose to talk about is Brazil. Rio de Janeiro’s has some urban areas where
children in poverty exist. It is the
poorest and vulnerable parents in this urban area. Since 1991 this program call
Associacao Saude Crianca has work with Rio de Janeiro to overcome the cycle of poverty.
This program mainly helps parents with children that have experience severe
health problems. They provide comprehensive support in five areas: health,
education, income, housing and citizenship. The program is custom designed and
consists of 24 months. Family members are provide with food and medical care as
well as job training, legal advice, housing assistant and help gaining access
to government programs. The goal of the program is for families to gain skills and
to break the cycle of poverty.
Wow, Rio de Janeiro has poverty! I thought it was one of the richer countries and that most people who were struggling was from the smaller part of it. I loved reading your post and enjoyed the pictures.

DeleteYour post was very moving especially the pictures you choose to select. Its so inspiring to see how these people live and survive through their poverty. When we complain about having to drink hot water when there are places in the world that dont have any water.
