What made me think is that more than 14.5 million children
in America were poor in 2015, and these children are from working parents. I just don’t understand why so many law makers
if we as a nation don’t see for all these poor children. What bothers me most is that these 14.5
million poor children are Black or Latino. I don’t see an end to this children
poverty. It is just a cycle of children in poverty. These children are often
less healthy, their development are hinder because they don’t have the right resources
and are left behind. And what is sad is these
poor children become poor parents. Like the website mentions every year we let
children live in poverty.
There is hope for
some help with the Child Care Access Resources for Early learning Act. This act
would help children under age 4 and with income level below 200 percent of
poverty and a need for child care would receive services. Every three years the act would conduct a
study to show the state the cost of child care and to set up payment rate that
attracts and retain high –quality child care provider. This act would make sure
that the children would be provide with a well develop educational program that
meets the needs of all children.
Luz, I was very saddened to hear about 14.5 children being poor two years ago. Your blog gave me information that could help with the resources to other educators. Great blog.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad topic about children in poverty. Knowing our country has the resources to stop it is what bothers me even more but we are too focused on wars. If children aren't important than nether is the future of this country, because believe it or not the children are our future.
ReplyDeleteIt is very sad to know that so many children of working parents are living in poverty in the world today. That is completely horrible! To know that these parents are working and trying to make a difference yet seem to be getting nowhere is very sad. One thing I have always heard from parents who are working their tails off to provide for their children is that they want to do more but it would require them having to quit or reduce the hours in their current job in order to attend a college program that would provide them with a better future. The online courses now offered more often than not in colleges has assisted this problem for some, but others are not able to learn online and therefore this makes them do what they feel is the best for their children now.
